DAY 1  - PALERMO 
  

DAY 2 - MONREALE and CEFALU'

Arrival in Palermo airport. Orientation tour around the historic center of this special city full of character that combines trace of the Arab, Norman and Swabian domination (the Cathedral, Martorana Church, the Pretoria Square with the Fountain of Shame).
Dinner and overnight in Palermo.

In Palermo, entry to the Palace of the Normans to discover its superb Palatine Chapel.
Visit the nearby little city of Monreale, called the “Kings City”. In its famous Benedictine Abbey you can admire the 12th century cathedral, housing fine mosaics representing the complete cycle of the Old and New Testaments.
Our tour continues to Cefalù, picturesque fishing village with its beautiful Cathedral. It is included in the club of “the most beautiful villages in Italy”.

DAY  3 - TRAPANI and MARSALA
   DAY  4 - AGRIGENTO

Depart to Trapani. On the way, discover Erice, also included in the club of “the most beautiful villages in Italy”. Here taste its traditional sweets made with almond paste. Then, in Trapani, visit its famous salt flats with their amazing landscape (from July to September it's possible witness the salt harvest) and the Salt Museum.
Continue to the sea town of Marsala, “re-discovered” in the 18th century by an English merchant John Woodhouse and known for its sweet wines. Visit a wine cellar and sample some Marsala during a special wine tasting session.

In the morning depart to Ragusa. On the road visit Agrigento and enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The best temple is that of Concordia (similar in design to the Parthenon in Athens) which is in an almost perfectly preserved condition.

DAY 5 - NOTO, MODICA and SYRACUSE
   DAY 6 - CATANIA and PIAZZA ARMERINA

Sightseeing tour to discover Baroque Sicilian cities of Noto (called “the Baroque Capital”), and Modica where you can tast its famous chocolate.
In the afternoon, visit Syracuse with a guided tour of this venerable city: the Archaeological Park of Neapolis, Archeological museum “Paolo Orsi”, Greek Theater with Latomia del Paradiso and Cave of Dyonisius’ Ear.
Dinner and Overnight in Syracuse.		  

Depart to Catania and visit its great monuments (Ursino Castle, Cathedral, Benedictine Monastery, Theater).
In the afternoon visit the Roman Villa of Casale in Piazza Armerina with its beautiful mosaics depicting scenes of daily Roman life.

DAY 7 - TAORMINA and MOUNT ETNA
   DAY  8 - FREE TIME IN TAORMINA

Depart to Taormina. In the morning, excursion to Mount Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe, go up to 2000 meters with minivan and visit secondary craters, lava flows and an amazing volcanic cave with lamps and helmet. In the afternoon, walking tour around the natural and artistic beauties of the city center with the possibility to enter in the Greek/Roman amphitheatre, with its spectacular view of Giardini Naxos and Isola Bella.
Dinner and overnight in Taormina.

 

  

Free day at leisure. Possibility to go to the wonderful beaches and swim in the Mediterranean Sea.

DAY  9 - DEPARTURE DAY

Transfer to Catania airport and this is the end of your Tour.
