DAY 2 - GUBBIO and CITTA' DI CASTELLO

Arrival with your flight into Rome airport. Transfer to hotel in Perugia.
In the evening explore Perugia, the most important city of Umbria, with a sightseeing tour through its highlights of the historical center characterized by many Etruscan and Roman monuments and mediaeval churches. You can see the Arco Etrusco, the Fontana Maggiore, from the Palazzo dei Priori to the best works of the painter Perugino.

Following breakfast, depart to the medieval town of Gubbio that keeps more than anything else a medieval character, which can be found in every street and every palazzo. Admire the Cathedral, the scenic and panoramic Piazza Grande, Palazzo dei Consoli, symbol of the city in Gothic style and the Doge's Palace, built in the second XV.
In the afternoon move to Città di Castello, a small jewel not well known. As evidence of its medieval past, you can see immediately the group of bell towers and the double town walls, still intact in many places. Discover Porta Sant'Andrea, Torrione San Giacomo e Palazzo del Podestà.

Dinner and overnight in Perugia.

Following breakfast depart to Assisi to discover all the places in which the religious revolution of St Francis and his disciples grew and propagated. Enjoy a guided tour in the the Upper and the Lower Basilica, the Hermitage delle Carceri, San Damiano and the Greccio, where the Franciscan sanctuary rises on the place where Francis of Assisi set out the first crib in the history of Christianity.
In the afternoon arrive in Spello, one of the most Beautiful villages in Umbria. "Wonderful Colonia Julia" in Roman times, explore by your own this lovely village with its little streets and churches adorned with flowers and plants.

Dinner and Overnight in Perugia.

After breakfast, enjoy an excursion of beautiful Lake Trasimeno. Immersed in the green hills of Umbria, Lake Trasimeno is the fourth largest lake in Italy by extension, on its shores are villages of breathtaking beauty. Arrive and visit Castiglione del Lago with its Rocca del Leone and Palazzo della Corgna. Take a ferry to explore Isola Maggiore, the largest among the islands of the lake and the only inhabited.
In the afternoon arrive in a local winery where you can walk through the vineyards and taste various wines with appetizers based on typical products. Discover the story of a culinary excellence of the area thanks to a complete tasting that offers many different dishes.
Continue your travel towards Spoleto.

Dinner and Overnight in Spoleto.

After breakfast at hotel, depart to Orvieto, one of the oldest cities in Italy. Enjoy with a local guide a walking tour of this city rich in history. Do not miss the beautiful Cathedral, a colorful example of Romanesque-Gothic architecture, rich in works of art, which keeps inside the Sacred Corporal and St. Patrick's Well, extraordinary feat of civil engineering of the sixteenth century, was excavated by order of Clement VII, and it is 62 meters deep with a diameter of 13.5 meters.
In the afternoon arrive in Todi, known as "the most livable city in the world". In this medieval town in a unique beauty and elegance that stands on top of a hill dominating the lovely valley of the Tiber, you can admire the cathedral and its majestic palaces as Palazzo Comunale, Palazzo del Capitano and the Palazzo dei Priori.

Dinner and Overnight in Spoleto.

After breakfast, it's time to begin a beautiful tour in Spoleto. Ancient capital of the Lombard dukes Spoleto will leave you breathless thanks to the wealth of historical and artistic heritage. Visit the majestic Albornoz fortress overlooking the city; distinguished record of the presence of popes and governors. Do not forget the Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral, a rare example of Romanesque architecture synthesis, which houses frescoes by Pinturicchio and Filippo Lippi, and the beautiful Casa Romana attributed to the mother of the emperor Vespasian Polla.
In the afternoon arrive in Terni, "the Steel City" or "Italian Manchester", a city with mostly modern traits that can hide inside pleasant surprises for discerning visitors. Walking through the center you can see an alternation of modern buildings in those decidedly more ancient like the Basilica of Saint Valentine, patron saint of lovers, and religious monument for San Salvatore dating back perhaps even the early Christian period.

(If you want the afternoon visit of Terni can be replaced by a natural excursion of Marmore Falls, a controlled flow waterfall, among the highest in Europe, with a total drop of 165 m divided into three jumps. Admission fee - service on request)
