DAY 2 - GENOA

Arrival in Milan International Airport and depart to Genoa.
First overview of the city with a walking tour through its narrow streets, called "caruggi" fascinating tales reveal the official history with special anecdotes and curiosities, myths and legends, discovering the charm and beauty of this magnificent city.

In this day explore deeper the birth town of explorer Christopher Columbus, Genoa is rich with maritime history. Visit Piazza De Ferrari, the Doge's Palace, Christopher Columbus’s House, San Lorenzo’s Cathedral, Piazza Banchi, Palazzo San Giorgio and the Old Port area. Here explore the largest maritime museum in the Mediterranean, Galata Museo del Mare. A museum interactive and modern that also gives you the opportunity to enter in the Italian submarine, Nazario Sauro, can be visited still afloat.

Afternoon is free.

Breakfast in the hotel. In the morning transfer to Sanremo and visit of the capital of the Italian Riviera with the old town, called the "Pigna", with the houses perched, small squares and steep streets and the modern Sanremo with its elegant palaces and its beautiful parks.
After a short stop to relax and lunch in the nearby village of Old Bussana (abandoned following an earthquake in 1887, in the 50’s, has begun to be inhabited by Italian and foreign artists who currently is home to many artisan shops) depart to the Nervia Valley to see the most beautiful villages of western Liguria: Dolceacqua, certainly the most picturesque, with the Doria Castle, a dense network of narrow streets and stone houses and the famous bridge and Apricale, medieval village perched on a hill that has one of the most beautiful squares in Italy, with the parish church, oratory and a lot of palaces that are all different from each other, filled with murals, sculptures and paintings of many artists who have left their works in this place, even in recent times.

Following breakfast, start an excursion by ferry throughout Paradise Gulf. In the morning departing from Genoa, first stop is to visit the seaside little village of Camogli (please note that if the excursion will be in February or March the ferry depart/return directly from/to Camogli).
Second stop is in Capodimonte, where you can visit the famous San Fruttuoso Abbey, its architectural and historical charms are accompanied by considerable natural and scenic attractions, creating a wonderful combination, where nature coexists happily alongside the work of man. Then arrive and enjoy free time in the chic seaside resort of Portofino, favored by Italy's rich and famous.

In the morning depart to to Chiavari and visit Its historical center, full of narrow streets that run between two rows of arcades, width and height unequal and supported by columns also very different in shape and size is one of the best historical center in the region.
Continue to Sestri Levante, a beautiful village known for its wonderful bays "Baia delle Favole" and "Baia del Silenzio” and for its characteristic city center with the typical "caruggi", full of historical shops.
Then arrive at La Spezia and visit its historic city center, a mix of old and modern elements, between the Middle Ages and Liberty, Futurism and Rationalism. The city is full of museums and interesting places like Castle of San Giorgio and Naval Museum.

This day is full dedicated to the Cinque Terre, a UNESCO-listed stretch of coastline that’s home to five picture-perfect fishing villages etched along the cliff face. The National Park is composed of five villages: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso.
Before starting this tour, arrive in Portovenere, an enchanting village near La Spezia. Visit St. Peter's Church, built at the top of the village where you can enjoy a wonderful view, the 12th century Castle and Byron's Cave, where the famous English poet sought inspiration for his poetry. From its harbor depart to Cinque Terre, by ferry with the daily ticket.

In addition to the incredible landscape this area is famous to producing excellent wines DOC, like Sciacchetrà, by terraces overlooking the sea with a lot of vineyards. In the afternoon enjoy a wine tasting accompanied by local foods in a typical winery in Monterosso.

Following breakfast at the hotel, depart to discover the lovely little town of Lerici with a guided visit of its historic center. Then continue crossing the romantic Poet Gulf and stop in San Terenzo, where Percy Bysshe Shelley lived for a short time together his wife Mary Shelley and George Byron, and Tellaro, recently included among the most beautiful villages in Italy.
In the afternoon arrive in Sarzana, city located on the border between Liguria and Tuscany. A must see is the Cathedral, dedicated to St. Mary of the Assumption.

Transfer to Milan International Airport and this is the end of your Tour.
