DAY 2ROME

monastery 1

You will be arriving at Rome airport  and met by your driver who will be accompaning you for the all journey in Italy with his very confortable van.
Farfa is about  1 hrs ride from the airport and this is where we will be heading after leaving the airport.
We are driving  north east and soon entering one of the greenest region of Italy called Sabina. Your roman history studies might remind you of something which from then on has been recalled as: The Rape of the Sabine women. This is in fact the region where these women were kidnapped by the first comunity of shepards leaving in this area which today we call Rome and was at  the origin of the great roman ancestry.
This is a region of Italy also known for its great olive oil production, one of the best in Italy. On our way to Farfa we will have a chance to see one the the oldest olive tree in the world more then 2.000 years old known as: the OLIVONE
The checking in in the Monastery is going to be very unformal and fast and soon you can relaxe in our rooms from the long transatlantic flight.

Rome is less then an hour and this is where we going tonight for a nice introduction to the city with a Rome by night tour with your driver. Back to Farfa to enjoy your first relaxing night in a monastery.

We wake up in the little village of Farfa and soon we reach the only bar existing to join the locals for breakfast.
Our driver is waiting for us to bring us back to Rome and giving us an orientation tour of the city.
All the main sites will be easily reached becouse our van is maximun size allowed to drive in the city center, different from any other vehicle with more then 9 seats which no longer are allowed in to the city center for sightseeing tour, for this reason no walking is requested but confortable drop off just by the monuments you'll be visiting.

The afternoon is completely dedicated to the Vatican, and particulary  the VATICAN MUSEUM ,The SISTINE CHAPEL and S.PETER'S BASILICA.

For this very special visit we have hired a private guide and reserved special tickets which will avoid a very long queue with otherwise forms every day since more then 6 milions of tourists are visiting this museum every year.

Time to say good bye to our local guide and we start our way back to our peaceful monastery.
